Look into advanced preparations if you’re looking to head out to any bars or restaurants, because options can book up quickly. Several city buses run from the southern end of the hotel zone to downtown and this is a good option to take for a great foray into local culture. The buses are dressed up in festive style and the occasional guitar player might hop aboard and spoil everyone with a rendition of Feliz Navidad.

And while you might be out enjoying the beach, a piña colada and some festive water-sports, don’t expect to miss Santa. Word is that he appears in festive garb on December 24th and 25th at many of Cancun’s many festive resorts. So whether on jet ski, powerboat, helicopter or traditional sleigh, if you’re in Cancun for Christmas, be sure that while things might be toned down a bit, the spirit of Christmas still runs high in the tropics.

Mexico’s Paradise: The Best Beaches in Cancun

Posted by

Exhibiting the very best of the Mexican Caribbean, Cancun, located on the Eastern tip of Mexico, features some glorious beaches, famed for their golden sands, crystal-clear waters and luxurious and vibrant atmosphere.

The top 5 beaches in Cancun:

1.Playa Las Perlas

Situated opposite the Isla Mujeres municipality, this beach is an exotic getaway featuring an extraordinary range of restaurants and bars which are found dotted around the beach area. The beach sits by a major hotel zone which makes it incredibly popular and a usual first stop for tourists, also thanks to the abundance of water sports and activities on offer.

2.Playa Linda

The prominent feature of this beach is a dock which serves as a hub for boating tours and, perhaps more interestingly, submarine tours offered to tourists. The novelty of travelling across to the Isla Mujeres by submarine adds extra incentive to a visit alongside the lavish sands and clear, cool waters. The beach is close to downtown Cancun and therefore features sufficient amenities for its guests.

Cancun contains two principal zones:

  • Hotel Zone or Cancun Island is a 23 km (14 miles) strip of beachfront hotels that looks a little like Miami
  • Downtown or Ciudad Cancun is the city on the mainland, where the community lives.

The main reference point in the Hotel Zone is Boulevard Kukulcan, that has kilometer markers used as locators, numbered from the north end. For example Gran Caribe Real Resort & SPA address is Blvd. Kukulcan Km. 11.5

Anyway, there are 2 main climatic seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season is from October to April and consists in tropical showers that can last from a few minutes to a couple of hours. The dry season is between May and the middle of October.
